Hi Sharon,
Welcome to planDisney and thank you for asking us a question, my fellow Canadian! I’m super excited that you’re planning a visit to Walt Disney World Resort this year, too!
The answer to your first question depends on the
Disney Springs restaurant where you’d like to dine. While several Disney Springs locations do accept
Disney Gift Cards as payments, because they’re often run by third party vendors (that is, they aren’t owned by Disney), this isn’t guaranteed. I’d recommend having an alternate form of payment available to you if you choose to dine at Disney Springs, just in case.
I’m happy to say, however, that I’ve had absolutely no difficulties using electronic Disney Gift Cards at Walt Disney World Resort. In fact, I actually prefer them to the physical versions now because it means I don’t have to go hunting through my purse or wallet to find my card!
Finally, regular
MagicBands can still be used to do all of the things that they’ve always done, including entering a Theme Park, accessing a
Lightning Lane entrance and even charging your purchases back to your Disney Resorts Collection hotel room folio. Just be sure to remember your PIN but, if you’ve forgotten it, you can always re-set it at your hotel’s
Lobby Concierge desk.
I hope my answer helps you plan the perfect vacation. Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions. I’m always happy to help my fellow Canadians visit the Most Magical Place on Earth!
Have a Magical Day,
Lynne
