    So excited to bring our kids for the first time in Jan! I understand this is a slower time of year (sort of the reason we booked it!) but should we be concerned that certain rides/experiences will be closed? Does the park "scale back"in winter?

    Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

    Late January and early February are actually my favorite time to visit the Walt Disney World Resort. The weather is great for touring the theme parks all day, and the number of Guests visiting is generally a little lower compared to the most popular times to visit.

    Renovations can happen any time of the year, that is why I highly recommend checking the Walt Disney World Resort calendar, where you will find a list if the current attractions undergoing refurbishment. Simply select your visit dates and closed attractions will be listed after each theme park’s schedule. During the time of your visit, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park will be closed for its annual refurbishment, but if temperatures rise and you decide that playing in the water is in order, you will be welcome to visit Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park. I have also noticed that Peter Pan’s Flight and Tomorrowland Speedway will be closed, but once again, it is important to check each date of your visit to confirm. I can see most attractions will be open, but please note that schedules and refurbishments are subject to change without notice.
