Excited to bring my grand kids to Disney world for the first time, what would you suggest are the best months for weather and the least crowds? Thanks!

    Hiya pal! Welcome to planDisney!

Bob, I gotta tell ya… this question gave me all the warm fuzzies. What a magical milestone you’re about to share with your grandkids! I live just around the corner from Walt Disney World Resort, and let me tell you, I never get tired of watching little ones experience the magic for the very first time. You’re in for something truly unforgettable.

This question is also near and dear to my heart because I was just six years old when my grandmother brought me to Walt Disney World for the first time. That trip planted the pixie-dusted seed that grew into a lifelong love of Disney. And now, I get to share that same joy with my own kids. I still feel her with me every time I see Cinderella Castle, and I have a feeling your grandkids will remember this trip forever, just like I do!

Now, as for the best time to visit, late February to early April is my top pick. The weather is usually mild (especially for us Floridians!), and we don’t get as much rain as we do during those warmer months. Another favorite? Mid-to-late October, into November. You’ll catch all of the magical fall décor and the Halloween fun. It can make for a spooktacular visit with tons of extra activities like Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, and the ever-popular EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival

If your grandkids are in school and spring break works better for your family, March (before Easter week) can also be a lovely time to visit. The flowers are blooming, the sun’s a bit gentler, and there’s a freshness in the air that makes everything feel brand new, even if you’ve been to the parks a hundred times like me!

A pro-tip: If you search online crowd calendars, you’ll be able to see some third-party historical attendance averages. They’re not an exact science, and it’s not Disney official data, but I’ve found them to be fairly accurate and helpful for planning!

No matter when you choose to visit, you’re about to step into something truly special. That first glimpse of Main Street, U.S.A., the way their eyes will light up when they see Mickey, the joy of sharing a Mickey-shaped snack together… these are the moments that become part of your family’s story.

I hope this helps get your magical planning started. Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us for any additional planning questions or tips. We’re always happy to help!

Wishing you the most magical first visit ever,

    Emille
