Welcome aboard, Tara!
My family and I were just on the Disney Dream and we sailed on the same Bahamian voyage just a couple of weeks ago. I am still going through withdrawal symptoms, and knowing that your family will be on your first one makes me smile! To top this off, you'll be sailing in December on a
Very MerryTime Cruise where the ship will be all decked out for the Holidays. Even your favorite Disney Characters will be dressing up in their colorful holiday garb!
You will look like a million bucks and everyone will wish that they too, dressed up in a nice black cocktail dress! Though there is no suggested formal night on the 3 night cruises, you are more than welcome to glam it up! This will be a great opportunity for you and your family to take gorgeous family photos! Every evening, the professional photographers will setup the atrium lobby with the signature Disney Cruise backgrounds. These make great frame-worthy family photos and a wonderful memento of your trip. You can get your family holiday picture taken while on the cruise!
The
main dining restaurants are beautifully decorated with so much attention to detail. I love seeing families all dressed up for dinner, since it just adds more to the whimsy and magic while on a Disney Cruise. It does get a bit challenging to pack fancy clothes, so you can opt to dress it down too -- but try not to lose the glam that you're already thinking of. You'll be taking lots of pictures, and I'm sure you'll be superbly elegant & beautiful when you share these with your friends and family.
Wishing you and your family a magical voyage.
