Ahoy there, Kristina!
Welcome aboard planDisney! Your excitement is absolutely justified because you picked one seriously magical way to experience your very first Disney cruise. Halloween on the High Seas aboard the Disney Wonder already feels like stepping into Halloween Town with Jack Skellington, spooky, festive, and full of “what’s this?!” moments around every corner. Add in Pirate Night, Baja sunshine, and all the first-cruise magic, and your family is in for an unforgettable adventure!
Since this is your first sailing, one important thing to remember is that entertainment schedules can always shift with the tides. Once you arrive at the terminal and connect to the ship’s Wi-Fi, you’ll want to keep a close eye on your
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app for the finalized schedule and exact event times. But based on the current plans for your sailing, here’s what your themed evenings should look like:
• Day 2 (Ensenada) – Optional Dress-Up Night
• Day 4 (Cabo San Lucas) – Pirate Night
• Day 5 (At Sea) –
Halloween on the High SeasThat Optional Dress-Up Night is Disney Cruise Line’s version of a “choose your own adventure.” Some Guests go full Prince Charming and Cinderella elegance, while others stick with cruise casual attire. There’s truly no wrong answer. One of my favorite things about Disney cruises is that everyone can participate at whatever comfort level makes them happiest.
For
Pirate Night, expect to see everything from simple pirate t-shirts all the way to Guests channeling their inner Captain Jack Sparrow. Disney usually provides pirate bandanas for everyone in your stateroom, so even if you don’t pack a full pirate outfit, you’ll still be able to join the fun. And yes, the Pirate Night deck party is every bit as energetic and swashbuckling as you’re imagining.
Halloween on the High Seas is where the Disney magic really materializes like the Sanderson sisters appearing at sunset. Pumpkins magically take over the Atrium, spooktacular character costumes, themed treats, special entertainment, and Guests dressed in everything from subtle DisneyBounding outfits to
full family costumes. My crew and I have mostly moved away from elaborate costumes these days and usually stick with themed matching shirts. They pack much easier, take up less suitcase space, and my kids are much more willing to participate without giving me the “you’re embarrassing us” look that only middle schoolers seem to master.
I hope this helps as you count down the days to
your very first Disney cruise! There’s something incredibly special about walking aboard for the first time and hearing that welcome announcement as your vacation officially begins.
Sea ya real soon with warm air, calm seas, and a ship that always feels like home,
Dustin
