Hi Gregory,
Welcome to
planDisney! I love connecting with fellow
Disney Vacation Club members and assisting with vacation planning questions so let's hop to it.
One of the things I love most about a Disney Vacation Club is flexibility. A DVC Membership allows me to choose from resorts at several locations, select the size of accommodations that fit my travel party and the ability to travel when it works for my schedule. While I tend to use my DVC Points for DVC Resorts at Walt Disney World Resort and the beach and island resorts, I'd love to do a DVC stay at either
The Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa or the
Villas at Disneyland Hotel. Staying at one of these DVC Resorts is straightforward, you'll see them in the list of "Other Resorts" when using the Resort Tool Availability on the DVC website once logged in.
If you are considering using your DVC Points for a stay at
Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa,
Disneyland Hotel, or
Pixar Place Hotel, you'll need to book directly with DVC
Member Services since these resorts are part of Disney Collection exchanges. There is a non-refundable $95 transaction fee (prices are subject to change without notice) for each confirmed exchange reservation and most reservations are subject to the
Rule of Four. This means they cannot be booked during the final four months of your Use Year if you plan to travel during that period. With a Disney Collection exchange, you’ll need to convert your Vacation Points to Reservations Points. Once converted, these Points will no longer be used to book DVC reservations so if you modify or cancel the reservation, the Points will expire at the end of the use year and cannot be banked, borrowed or transferred.
Gregory, I hope this information is useful to your vacation planning and that you'll be visiting The Happiest Place on Earth in no time! Please
let me know if you have any other questions, I'm happy to help.
Happy planning,
Candace
