Can we exchange Canadian for US money are the resorts? Any idea what the exchange rate is?

Hello Dianne!  Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

As a fellow Canadian, exchanging my brightly colored Canadian dollars for the uniform and (in my opinion) confusing American dollars is a frustrating experience due to the weaker Canadian loonie and fluctuating exchange rates.

The good news is that you can exchange Canadian for US currency for up to $250 US dollars a day at the Front Desk or Concierge of any Walt Disney World Resort hotel.  In addition, currency exchange can also be handled at the Guest Relations locations at any of the theme parks or Disney Springs with the same maximum limit of $250 US dollars a day.  If you are paying for something at these locations(tickets, room rates, etc.) with Canadian currency then there is no limit to how much you spend.

I contacted Guest Relations at (407)939-5277 to inquire about the current Canadian exchange rate and as of 3:52PM EST, January 1, 2017, the exchange rate was $0.73 US per $1 Canadian dollar.  As currency exchange rates are constantly fluctuating, I recommend that you contact your resort via the number above closer to your travel date as the rates frequently change.
