Hi, How exactly will the parks be affected during the Marathon weekend in Jan? (ie. crowds, or watching out for runners) Also, if I get adr for CRT and pay in advance, would I be reimbursed if I book vacation with ddp? Thanks!!

    Hi Tara!

You'll notice an increase in crowds during the marathon weekend, but honestly, attendance in January is so (historically) low, that the impact won't be all that great.

If you are using Disney Transportation to get around the parks, they'll let you know that travel in and around the parks could take a little longer on the morning of the marathon because they need to secure the course and that might result in some temporary road closures, etc.  To combat this, I would choose the park that was closest to my resort for the marathon morning (to help minimize your travel time), and also plan on transportation taking much longer than normal on that morning.

As far as Cinderella's Royal Table is concerned, they have a 24 hour cancellation policy.  If you do not show or cancel less than 24 hours in advance of your reservation, your card will be charged.  Once you arrive, you can let the server know that you'll be using the Disney Dining Plan to pay for your meal and those credits will be used, not your credit card.

    Have a magical vacation!
