What exactly is "family style" dining? I see the princess dinner at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall has it and was never quite sure what this meant...I assume it is similar to a buffet style except the food is brought to you?

    Hello, Harold,

Thank you for sending your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  There are several restaurants at Walt Disney World that offer family style dining.  With this style of dining, guests have a fixed menu rather than ala carte dining.  The food is then served in larger servings to pass around and share. Since Akershus Royal Banquet Hall combines both family style dining with buffet dining, I thought you may want to visualize how this works by looking at an independent website www.disneytouristblog.com and doing a search for Akershus Breakfast Review as the article not only explains dining family style but also has pictures.

Happy Disney dining!  Please let us know if you have any further questions.  -Kara
