Hi Francis!
Welcome to planDisney! I see that you'll be traveling to Walt Disney World Resort this weekend - how exciting! It sounds like your plans include visiting a galaxy far, far away at Disney's Hollywood Studios.
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge features several ways to immerse yourself in the world of Batuu including
Droid Depot and
Savi's Workshop.
Francis, both of these experiences not only allow you to step inside your own Star Wars story, but you can also bring home some really cool souvenirs! At Droid Depot, you have the opportunity to custom-build your own droid. Once your build is complete, your droid is brought to life and can start interacting with the world around it - beeping its way all around Black Spire Outpost. There's a recent reel on the
planDisney Instagram page that can give you an inside peek at this unique experience. Similarly, the Force is strong with guests at Savi's Workshop. While here you can build your own lightsaber and bring it to life in a secret build location led by a Gatherer. My panelist pal Jana has
shared her own experiences at Savi's Workshop in another answer that you may find helpful!
Advanced reservations are available for both Droid Depot and Savi's Workshop and are highly recommended. If you don't see any reservations available, you can always check the day of your visit for any walk-up spots that may be open. While it's not always the case, we were fortunate on our visit to grab a walk-up opportunity for my two oldest boys at Droid Depot. You may also be interested in checking out
Tatooine Traders - a shop located at the exit of Star Tours: The Adventure Continues. There's some great Star Wars merchandise here and they also offer a build-your-own lightsaber experience - no reservation required. This one is quite a bit different though as you are making a plastic, collapsible lightsaber instead of the more authentic experience you'd have at Savi's Workshop.
While visiting Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, you won't want to miss some of the great food and drink offerings too.
Docking Bay 7 Food & Cargo is one of my favorite Quick-Service locations with food that offers a unique twist on some familiar favorites as well as an out-of-this-world dining area. We also enjoyed visiting
Oga's Cantina for a drink and snack. It's a lively locale with upbeat music and bustling with visitors! Reservations are recommended for Oga's Cantina, but you can also
check for walk-up availability in the
My Disney Experience Mobile App.
Francis, I hope this helps you enjoy a wonderful day at Disney's Hollywood Studios! Please stop by to see us again if you have any other vacation planning questions in the future!
Till the Spire!
Kristi
