What exactly are Disney Dollars and how are they different than a Disney gift card? I have read they can be purchased at the Disney Store, but have never seen them advertised or heard of anyone buying them. Thanks so much !

    Hi Jennifer,

The Disney Dollars were more popular a decade ago before gift cards became available.  I think its been a very long time since they have been advertised, but they do still sell them at local Disney Stores.

They look like play money.  They come in different denominations, each with a different Disney character.  They can be used throughout WDW.  Bringing them to the park is just like bringing cash, if you lose them you may not get them back.

If you know someone is going to WDW, Disney Dollars make a really cute present.  It's a little bit different than the run of the mill gift card.
