how exactly does baby switch work? if i wanted to use baby switch on a ride i was using fast pass for does the adult that is waiting have to reserve fast pass also? or would they be issued a pass and have to wait in the regular line?

Hello Jaime! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

The Rider Switch Service at Walt Disney World Resort Theme Parks is crucial for parties looking to enjoy the wilder(or taller) side of the Theme Parks with little ones in tow.

My family used the Rider Switch Service for Soarin' at Epcot when my son was just a hair's width too short for the experience. In our case, we had reserved FastPass+ Selections for the experience but were provided a Rider Switch Service Pass in case the second party (my son and I) waited beyond our scheduled FastPass+ time or wanted to wait until later in the day for the experience.

When you use Rider Switch Service, the first party will enter the queue while the second party waits in a designated area. The first party will be able to access the FastPass+ queue only if every member in the first party currently has a FastPass+ for the attraction.

The second party will return with the Rider Switch Service Pass and be granted access to the FastPass+ Queue regardless of time or scheduled FastPass+ Selections while the first party waits. Making a shorter wait time for the second party is what the Rider Switch Service benefit is about.

The first party must wait in the Standby Queue if they do not have FastPass+ Selections reserved.

Speak with a Cast Member at the entrance to the attraction for which you wish to use Rider Switch Service before entering the queue.

    Have A magical Vacation!
