What are the exact dates that Disney will be ruining their 70th celebrations?

    Hi Jennifer,

Welcome to planDisney!  There’s truly no better time to visit the Disneyland Resort than right now—because the 70th Anniversary celebration is in full swing, and the magic is shining brighter than ever!

Disneyland’s milestone celebration officially kicked off on May 16. The festivities will pause briefly during the holiday season (to make way for all that spooky and merry magic), then return and continue through summer 2026. That means you’ll have plenty of time to experience all the dazzling entertainment, exclusive merchandise, and, of course, those celebration-only snacks! We don't have exact end dates, but I would use the 2025 Event Calendar to help you estimate the dates.

I’m already dreaming of my next visit—especially to try the 70th Celebration Macaron at Jolly Holiday Bakery Café. It’s a beautiful treat that looks almost too cute to eat… almost!

And Jennifer, you are in for a real treat when it comes to entertainment! To honor 70 years of magic, the resort is rolling out a spectacular lineup of shows and parades, including:

Wondrous Journeys – A breathtaking fireworks spectacular that celebrates Disney animation
Paint the Night Parade – A fan-favorite nighttime parade that glows with energy
World of Color: Happiness! – A new version of this beloved water show
Tapestry of Happiness – A beautiful new projection show highlighting Disney magic
Better Together – A colorful daytime parade celebrating friendship
The Celebrate Happy Cavalcade – A magical mini parade featuring rare characters like Duffy, Shellie May, and Max Goof!

Some of these are beloved entertainment returning, while others are brand-new created just for this milestone year. I especially loved seeing the cavalcade—it’s full of rare characters and high-energy music that had everyone dancing along! Pro tip: My favorite place to watch a parade is near “it’s a small world”. It’s less crowded, and once the magic passes by, you can hop right on the ride with a shorter wait time.

Jennifer, I hope this info helps you plan a magical trip! If you have any more questions or want more tips and tricks for navigating the parks, don’t hesitate to reach out to me or any of my fellow planDisney panelists. We’re always here to help you make the most of your Disney dreams!

    See ya real soon!
