Hi everyone, I am planning on going to Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party this year for the first time and would like to know if you can use your dining plan meal/snack credits during the event? Thanks!

Boo to you, Kelvin! I'm shrieking with excitement that you've come back to planDisney with another vacation planning question and this time, we're talking Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Disney dining plans - let's fill you up with all the tricks and treats of the season!

Kelvin, I think you'll be as happy as a grim-grinning ghost to know that you are more than welcome to use your meals and snacks from your Disney dining plan during the special event hours - and beyond! This is a great strategy if you've got plans to try some of the party-exclusive treats that tend to materialize every fall, or if you're looking to snag a dining reservation before or during the special event. While we haven't seen reports just yet of what to expect as far as specialty snack offerings in 2024, check out last year's Foodie Guide to see all the seasonal snacks that might make an appearance again this fall all around the Walt Disney World Resort! As a bonus dining plan tip for snacking, keep your eyes peeled for a purple and white dining plan logo so you'll easily know which menu items qualify as snacks throughout the parks!

Since you mentioned it's going to be your first time attending the party, keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog Halfway to Halloween page for updates as we inch closer to the spooky celebrations, and also check out some of the planDisney panelists top tips for the Halloween party here! I'd love to share a few of my own tips with you as well!
    • Arrive early! You can enter Magic Kingdom as early as 4 PM with your party ticket; my family likes to sleep in a little later on party days and then enjoy a late lunch before heading to the party! Last year we dined at Steakhouse 71 at Disney's Contemporary Resort around 2 PM and then walked right over to the party entrance so we could enter right at 4 PM!
    • Don't skip the trick-or-treating! Kids of all ages deserve some special Halloween snacks, and the Cast Members deliver spooky scoops full of all the classic favorites!
    • Be sure to catch Mickey's Boo-To-You Halloween Parade and Disney's Not-So-Spooky Spectacular fireworks show! These are both party exclusives that celebrate the season of Halloween!
    • Take advantage of PhotoPass opportunities and Halloween MagicShots to commemorate the party!
    • Visit with some unique characters! From the seven dwarfs to Jack Skellington, you never know who you might have the chance to mingle with at this special event! I especially love seeing my favorite characters dressed up in their Halloween costumes for some unique photos!
Kelvin, I know you're going to have a frightfully fun time at the party, and I hope you enjoy all the dining and snacks along the way! If you have any other questions, come back and let us know!

    Happy Haunting,
    Alison
