Hi everyone! I will be taking my 3 years old daughter to Disney (Feb 9-14) and it's my first time too. I will be visiting all parks, how do I know when/where to find the Disney characters? Is there any kind of schedule? What about the firework shows?

    Hi Cynthia!

When you arrive at a theme park, you can pick up a "Times Guide" at the turnstiles at the entrance gate or in various stores or Guest Relations.  If you are staying at a Disney resort hotel, you can also pick up a Times Guide for the various parks there as well.

On the back of the guide, there will be a listing of the major character meet and greet locations in the park and the times the characters will be there.  However, there will also be additional characters not listed on the Times Guide to meet and greet.  One of my favorite family memories is one night many years ago we entered the Magic Kingdom and just found Mickey and Minnie alone on the stairs in the Train Station.  It was a great photo opportunity as we got pictures with both at the same time.  If you or your daughter is looking for a particular character, you should stop in Guest Relations when you enter the park and get the latest information.

If you want more interaction with the characters then you should consider a Character Dining Experience.  They are available inside the theme parks and outside in various resort hotels.  Click here and then select Character Dining on the left to see the Character Dining opportunities.

You can get the daily schedule of major events, such as park operating times, parades, and fireworks on the Walt Disney World website.  Under "Plan", click on "Park Hours" or you can click here.

    Have a magical vacation!
