Everyone is saying the rules have changed about pool hopping at Disneyland resorts. If I stay at Paradise Pier, can I use the pools at Disney hotel and the Hrand Californian?

    Hiya, Victoria!

    Welcome to planDisney!

This is a great question. Officially, the usage rule for the three Disneyland Resort Hotels is that the pools are only intended for the Guests staying at that location. However, there are times when exceptions are made, such as earlier this yEAR when the pool at Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel was closed as it was being worked on. In this case, Guests were welcome to swim at the neighboring iconic (ear-conic?) Disneyland Hotel. There was even a chauffeured golf cart to transport bathing beauties between the two hotels in style!

I sadly don't have the proper magic mirror to see inside your My Disneyland Account, Victoria, to see if or when you have a planned stay coming up. However, I can share that while all of the pools at the three hotels are currently up and running (so there are no swimming substitutions being offered at this time), it does seem like the pool deck at Paradise Pier may be unavailable again in the nEAR future as this hotel will soon start to undergo a complete refurbishment to become the new Pixar Place Hotel. While we don't have a timeline or any details of when this will be happening, feel free to check back with us hEAR at planDisney, or be sure to follow the Disney Parks Blog as they sometimes share behind-the-scenes peeks at projects like this. You can even follow them across all of your social media channels so you'll never miss the newest Disney Parks news!

Bonus Tip: Did you know that when you stay at a Disneyland Resort Hotel, you're welcome to use the pools the moment you arrive until minutes before you have to leave, even if it's hours before check-in or way after you already said 'See You Real Soon' to your Guest room. There are even changing and shower facilities available at the pool decks, so be sure to pack your suit and a change of clothes in your carry-on!

I hope that this helped to clEAR up your question, Victoria! Be sure to follow the official planDisney Panel Instagram account for even more tips and tricks. And if you have any more Disneyland Resort planning questions, We're All Ears!
