Hi everyone, planning our first trip to WDW for a family of 5(4adult,and a 4yr old). would love resort rec. and is it really necessary to purchase a park hopper pass if we will be there 6days and 5nights. we are thinking of staying at Coronado springs.

Hi Jenny! Disney's Coronado Springs Resort is our favorite Moderate Resort at Walt Disney World. For a family of 5, 4 adults and one child over 3 years of age, you would be looking to book a Junior Suite, a 1-bedroom Suite or an Executive Suite for your stay. My family also enjoyed Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside for fun accommodations for a family of 5. Alligator Bayou there offers guest rooms with a trundle bed to sleep a child less than 9 years of age.

It is my belief that guests with Preschoolers should plan to visit one Park for an entire day. This way you can leave mid-day for a nap and some Rest and Relaxation (R&R) at your Disney Resort hotel. Most Preschoolers are early risers and this makes it very easy to head to the Park early. At lunch time, you can either eat at the Park or head back to your Disney Resort hotel for lunch. Early afternoon is a great time to enjoy a dip in the pool or just enjoy one of the many amenities your Disney Resort hotel has to offer. Then you can return to that same Park and enjoy the Parades, entertainment, dinner and more.

I found it difficult to Park Hop with a Preschooler. We tended to ride the "favorite" ride several times and would use the return to the Park that day to hit other attractions. I would suggest that you visit one Theme Park each day with time each day to enjoy your Disney Resort hotel and then take one day to visit a Water Park. I would also suggest that on your day to visit Disney's Animal Kingdom Park that you return to your Disney Resort hotel a little later in the afternoon for R&R., then you can visit Downtown Disney that late afternoon/early evening.

    Have a Magical Vacation!
