It's great to see you here today at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Sheron!
With your trip to Walt Disney World Resort coming up really soon, now is a great time to nail down some of those final details, like how you're going to use
Rider Switch to help your vacation go smoothly when you have little ones who are not quite tall enough to meet some of the
height requirements. Since there are a few moving parts to consider, I'm happy to walk you through the finer points of how guests use
FastPass+ and Rider Switch together to make sure everyone gets to ride their favorite attractions!
You do not need to have a FastPass+ in order to use Rider Switch, but some families like to use the two services in conjunction with one another to save a little bit more time and in that case, everyone who intends to ride will need to have a valid FastPass+. For example, if your husband and your son have a FastPass+ for
Space Mountain at
Magic Kingdom Park and they use it to enter the attraction while you do something else with your two other children and obtain a Rider Switch entitlement, you will also need to have a valid FastPass+ when it's time for you to ride. If your husband and your son wait in the standby line first and do not use a FastPass+, you will still be able to use the FastPass+ entrance when you redeem your Rider Switch entitlement. The pass you receive to go through the FastPass+ queue using Rider Switch is good for up to three people, so your son can even come back with you and ride again if he wants to!
I hope this answers your question, Sheron, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation.
