HI everyone we are looking to take our first disney vacation next year when my daughter turns 5! We are super excited. We want to stay 7 days. My questions is, could someone give me a sample itinerary for this age for a girl?

Hi Kelly!  I am so excited for you, a first Disney vacation is a memory that will last a lifetime.

If you ask all the moms here for a sample itinerary, you are bound to get a lot of different answers.  But, I will share with you how our vacations have always worked best from the time my daughter was very little. On arrival day, we check in and head to our room to unpack.  We like to spend the day relaxing because travel day can be tiring for everyone.  If the weather is nice we might take a dip in the pool or head to Downtown Disney for a bite to eat and then we head back to the resort and go to bed early.  The next two days we spend at the parks.  I base what park we are going to on the Extra Magic Hours.  We love to be at the parks before it gets too crowded and morning Extra Magic Hours really help with that.  The 4th day we use as a rest day.  We sleep in and swim at the resort.  We love shopping at Downtown Disney and having dinner at one of the resort restaurants and then again we go to bed early.  The 5th,6th and 7th day are all spent visiting the theme parks.  We love going to all of the parks and then going to Magic Kingdom again at the end of our vacation.

This schedule really works for our family and is something I suggest to all of my friends.  I really feel like on a 7+ day vacation a rest day is needed to regroup.  I hope this helps give you an idea on how to plan your Disney vacation.  If you have any other questions, please come back and ask.

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
