Does everyone on your friends and family list have to schedule the same rides with genie+ , or can they schedule individual rides? Thank you!

    Hey there, hi there Rhonda!

Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question. Summer will be here before you know it, and soon you'll be joining in The World's Most Magical Celebration! It sounds like you are planning to add Genie+ to one or more days of your vacation. With a friend like that, you'll have phenomenal cosmic power in the itty bitty living space of your phone.

Okay, that might be a bit of a stretch, but Genie+ will help you and your party save some valuable time that would otherwise be spent waiting in standby lines. With this freedom you'll be able to experience more attractions, take longer midday breaks, leisurely soak in all of the entertainment and atmosphere, or have some extra time for shopping and dining.

A Genie+ Lightning Lane selection can be made for just one person in your party, a couple of people, or the whole group. This is great especially if you have a larger group with a variety of ages and interests. If you are in Magic Kingdom you may find that half of your party wants to ride Splash Mountain. When you go to make a selection, you'll be asked which guests in your group will be joining you. You'll simply select everyone who will be riding. The other members of your party are free to make a Lightning Lane selection for a different attraction.

Keep in mind, you'll want to try to select attractions that have similar Lightning Lane return times, because in order to book a Lightning Lane for the entire group, everyone in your party will need to have entered their previous Lightning Lane. You have an hour to enter your Lightning Lane, so if half of your group has a Lightning Lane booked for Splash Mountain at 2:15 PM, and the other half has a time for The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh at 3:00 PM, you may want to wait until 2:45 PM to split up. That way you'll be finishing your rides at about the same time and will be able to select a new attraction that you can all enjoy together.

Hope this helps. Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
