Hello Sandra!
Don't give up hope! We are also a family of 7, and we have 5 girls, too. Isn't it so much fun? We just came back from a Walt Disney World vacation and had luck with walk-up reservations. First, I suggest to keep checking the
Disney Dining page for reservations. Plans change all the time, so I would keep the search broad. If there is a particular restaurant you would like, do a general time search for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, then the system will show you any available times.
If you are not able to secure a reservation in advance, there is still an opportunity for a walk-up reservation. With some of the very popular restaurants like Chef Mickey's and Cinderella's Royal Table, I have not had much luck. However, we were able to eat at Cape May Cafe at Disney's Beach Club Resort for breakfast and The Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom Park without an advance reservation. So if you are in a Disney theme park, then absolutely walk on by and ask if they have any reservations available. I usually try to go at an off-peak time to increase my chances, such as a late breakfast, late lunch, or very early dinner.
There are many wonderful Character Dining locations at the Walt Disney World resort to choose from. The hardest part will be deciding which is your favorite! Don't forget your camera and autograph book!
If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask. We have so many magical memories from our Walt Disney World vacations, I know your family will make your own to cherish. Have a fantastical first trip!
Wishing you Disney Dining pixie dust,
Tania
