Hi Carlos,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I’m so happy to hear you’ve got a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort planned for January 2020.
Now, more than ever, it’s a great time to visit, and I know your family is going to have such a great time together!
I totally understand your concern about your daughter’s allergies. I have allergies and asthma, and it’s not fun at all to feel terrible when they’re acting up.
Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort is a little more than halfway through its refurbishment, and the refurbished rooms feature wood floors and a nice, clean interior. We don’t know when the refurbishments are scheduled to be completed at this time, but I do have a couple of suggestions for you to ensure your daughter can be comfortable during your vacation!
First, you or your travel agent should
call Walt Disney World Resort Reservations and request an allergy-friendly room. Mousekeeping will use special detergent on any bedding and towels used in your room, and can clean using products designed for allergy-sensitive Guests. When you do this, request a carpet-free room and specify that there is a medical need. This will help prioritize your request. You can also add a request for a refurbished room. While requests can’t be guaranteed, requests that are for medical reasons do carry more weight with the room assigners. Be sure to bring any medications your daughter may need to help with her allergies; especially since you’re traveling from Brazil, you never know what new plants or environmental factors could trigger her allergies, and you’ll want to have the medicines she is used to easily on hand. There are also
First Aid Stations available throughout the resort.
I hope you and your family have an amazing vacation next year at Walt Disney World! As you count down to your magical vacation, please come back and see us if we can help with any more questions. Did you know we can answer questions in multiple languages,
including Portuguese? We are here to help you, and I hope we’ll see you real soon!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
