Hi everyone. Every time we go to Disney my daughter looks for souvenirs of her favorite character, Mulan. We usually have little success. We are going for her 21st birthday and want to find something special. Any ideas?

    Hi there Ken,

There is a shortage of Mulan-inspired souvenirs in the parks which is a bummer since you're in search of that perfect 21st birthday gift for your daughter.  On my recent visit, I do recall seeing a Mulan art print in the Art of Disney Store but available items change on a day to day basis.  I highly suggest checking both the Emporium in the Magic Kingdom and the World of Disney Store in Downtown Disney as these two locales carry the widest selection of Disney merchandise.

Although I couldn't help you track down any specific Mulan merchandise, I did have a few neat ideas for you. You could book a reservation at one of Disney's table service restaurants and have a custom Mulan-themed cake delivered right to you table! Although this won't be a souvenir that she can cherish forever it will help create a memory that will never fade.  Once you decide on the restaurant, give the Disney Cake Hotline a call at 407-827-2253 to order your custom cake.  They will connect you with a pastry chef who will work with you to design the perfect Mulan cake for your daughter's special day!

Another idea would be to create your own special Mulan souvenir.  Just bring an 8x10 (or size of your choice) photo matte with you in the color of your choice (available from Walmart and Target). Have a PhotoPass photographer snap a picture of your daughter with Mulan in Epcot's World Showcase. When you have a chance, sneak back over to have Mulan write a special, personalized birthday greeting to your daughter on the bottom of the matte (so it will show through a frame). Next, stop by the PhotoPass processing center near Spaceship Earth to have the photo printed.  Now, just tape the photo into the matte and frame if you wish!  Voila!  You just created the perfect Mulan-inspired souvenir that she will always cherish.
