Does everyone on my account need to buy genie plus or is it ok if only a couple of people buy it and use it as we have some that are ok to wait in line and some who don't want to wait. and can a different cc be used for each that buys it?

Hi Chelsea! Thanks for bringing your Genie+ question to us here at planDisney! We like to think you ain't never had a friend like us, so let's see what kind of magical vacation wishes we can make come true for you!

Genie+ is available for guests to purchase individually as a ticket add-on option, so whether your entire party wants to participate, or just a few members, that is completely up to you! When you log into your My Disney Experience mobile app to purchase the Genie+ service, you will have the option to select whatever eligible guests you would like from your Friends and Family list. If you manage other guests' accounts, you will need to purchase the service on your account for them if they want to participate.

As you go through the purchase process, each transaction you make can be charged and paid for with a separate form of payment, as desired. This might mean that each person has to log into his or her own account and complete the transaction individually if you would like to use different payment methods. When I recently traveled with a group of friends, one person selected and paid for each of us and we reimbursed her afterward. This is entirely up to you; just allow a little extra time if everyone will be purchasing separately to ensure you all are booked and ready to make your first selection at 7 AM.

One of the things I recommend when traveling with a group and utilizing Genie+ is to designate one guest as the group leader to book the attractions throughout the day. This will streamline the process and keep everyone in the same return window for each attraction. To make this happen, just make sure you are linked as Friends and Family and have the leader keep an eye on the Tip Board throughout the day so they will know what selection to make next for the group. I always like to set an alarm clock a few minutes before my next selection time to check what is available and make a plan for what I will choose next.

Keep in mind that if you have party members who do not purchase Genie+, you will have to split up as you enter attractions and will complete the experiences at different times. So in this case, I'd suggest establishing meeting times and places throughout the day where the entire group can come back together - maybe to enjoy a snack or meal - before heading to the next adventure!

Chelsea, I'd also like to remind you that, at this time, there are a few attractions that are not included in Genie+ and are only available to experience through a Virtual Queue or an Individual Lightning Lane purchase. TRON Lightcycle/Run in Magic Kingdom Park and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT offer an opportunity to join the Virtual Queue each morning at 7 AM. If you are planning to use both Genie+ and the Virtual Queue, I recommend having two separate people on deck at 7 AM ready to conjure some magic!

I hope this has been helpful and I hope you have a magical vacation; please come back anytime if we can help again!
