Does every person in my party need to have max pass tickets in order for me to pick a fastpass ride through the app? I want to be able to pick a FP ride for my teenage kids so we can go as a family to the ride but wasnt sure if they needed a maxpass as wel

Hi there, Sabrina, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I’m so glad you’re hEAR!

Yes, every Guest in your party (ages 3 and over) will need to have Disney MaxPass added to their theme-park ticket in order to make Disney FASTPASS selections using the Disneyland app. Otherwise, you can still obtain complimentary FASTPASS selections at select attractions by using the in-park FASTPASS distribution points. Personally, I prefer having MaxPass added to my ticket, so I can make FASTPASS selections on my phone, which is a big time-saver! If you have Park Hopper Tickets, MaxPass will even allow you to make a FASTPASS selection for one park while you’re in the other!

So, here’s how it works: You can either purchase your tickets online with Disney MaxPass added to them, or you can add Disney MaxPass to your theme-park tickets on a daily basis, upon entering the theme parks. Before your arrival, I recommend downloading the Disneyland app, which you'll need in order to use MaxPass. Once you’ve downloaded the Disneyland app, you can add your tickets by going to “My Tickets”, then pressing the “+” sign in the upper right corner. Next, press “Link Tickets & Passes” and scan the barcode for each ticket, or enter the ID numbers manually. Press “Submit”, and you’re all set!

Once you enter either Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park, you can add Disney MaxPass to your tickets on a daily basis by using the Disneyland app. From the Home screen, look for the “+” sign at the bottom of the screen. Tap that, then select “Get FASTPASS with Disney MaxPass.” Select which ticket you’d like to add MaxPass too, then complete your transaction. It’s as easy as that!

Once you’re ready to make your first FASTPASS selection using MaxPass, and everyone in your group is in the park, select “Get FASTPASS with Disney MaxPass” to create your FASTPASS party. Select the appropriate tickets for that particular attraction, then you’re on your way to making your FASTPASS selection!

Also, don’t forget to take advantage of the unlimited digital downloads of your Disney PhotoPass photos, which is a great perk to having MaxPass! I love having our family’s picture taken by a PhotoPass Photographer -- it's the best way to ensure we all get in the picture! Also, don’t forget to nab your PhotoPass attraction photos, too. I love the hilarious reactions captured by these photos! Simply link your 8-character attraction ID, located on the preview wall, to your Disney account, using the Disneyland app.

Lastly, here’s the Entertainment Schedule for your arrival day, so you can start mapping out your magical plans.

I hope this helps, Sabrina. Please don’t hesitate to stop by with any additional questions… I’m all EARs!
