Every Dec we go to WDW for the holiday features. This year we're taking the Disney cruise 11/29 to 12/3. My ? is, what is the temp at that time of year in Nassau & can we swim at Castaway Cay? Do we pack shorts? We are four adults, no kids. Thank

    Barbara,

Visiting the Mouse's House in December can be addicting! All of the wonderment and magic of Walt Disney World mixed with the holiday festivities and decorations makes for a memorable vacation.

I'm so excited for your upcoming cruise aboard the Disney Wonder! I absolutely adore sailing on the sea and the Disney Cruise Line offers magical ports and fun days at sea.

In late November and early December, Nassau typically has very comfortable weather. Historically, the high temperatures are in the low 80s with the low temps in the low to mid 60s. Sounds like paradise to me! In addition, this time of year has lower rainfall amounts than the Fall months. Still, plan for short-lived showers just in case. Looking at historical data, partly cloudy seems to be the norm during those days for the last few years. And it's not unheard of to see temps in the mid-high 70s.

Swimming at Castaway Cay will depend on what your traveling party considers cold. I've read that temps near the shore line are typically around 80 degrees and 75-78 degrees farther out.

If you would wear shorts in 72-85 degree weather back home, then you'll want to wear them on your cruise to the Bahamas. Evenings at sea and/or out on deck may be cooler so plan accordingly.

    Bon voyage!
