Hi, Have any of you ever received an upgrade in your room type by just asking when you arrived at your resort at check in? How should you do this? Love this panel, thanks for all your help.

    Hi Eileen,

Although it is highly unusual, it is possible to receive a complimentary upgrade of your Walt Disney World resort room.  In fact, my family had the good fortune to be upgraded from a woods view room to a courtyard view room last September when we stayed at Disney's Wilderness Lodge.  We didn't even have to ask for the upgrade.  We were simply assigned the upgraded room when we checked in.  This was the only time, however, in my many trips to Walt Disney World that we received an upgrade.

It is best to count on having exactly the kind of room you booked when you made your reservation but upgrades do happen sometimes.  It doesn't hurt to ask nicely at check-in if any complimentary upgrades are available at that time.  Be sure to do this before the Cast Member prints your Key to the World cards.

Sending pixie dust your way in the hopes that a complimentary upgrade is in your future!
