What ever happened to Tom Sawyer's Swimming Hole (Or whatever it was called)? I remember back before BB, when there was only TL, there was a swimming area that was fed with really cold, non-chlorinated water. I thought I heard it became part of a resort?

    Hi there Erin!

I believe the area/park you are referring to is the old Disney's River Country. It was the first waterpark built at Walt Disney World adjacent to Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and was themed in the same rustic wilderness style. River Country was on the banks of Bay lake and some of the slides went directly into the lake, making it a "fresh water" park with a specialized filter system to use the lake water. River Country closed down for good in 2001 and the property is now being looked at for a possible resort location. I hope this information helps and if you have more questions, please ask away, we are always here to help! Thanks so much for asking the Moms Panel!
