Have you ever eaten at the Ballroom Contemporary for Christmas Eve. Having looked at the menu (we're not drinkers) and they'll be 6 of us and not sure if its worth 100.00 per person. Thanks.

    Hi Maria,

Thanks so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.  Visiting Walt Disney World during the winter holidays is so magical.  The Walt Disney World resorts and theme parks are decorated beautifully!

It sounds to me like you are considering the Culinary Magic Event offered to Disney Vacation Club members, which is a buffet Christmas Eve dinner in the Ballroom of the Americas at Disney's Contemporary Resort.  This event is new this year, so I have not had the opportunity to enjoy it in the past.  I have just been looking at the information about it, which can be found at the Disney Vacation Club member website.  Once you log in, you can scroll down and on the right-hand side of the page find the link for the Culinary Magic Event for more information.

I find that often with these types of events, the value and enjoyment comes not from the food alone, but also from the extras included.  According to the link I provided above, there are scheduled to be carolers, Disney characters, and holiday surprises.  These extra Disney touches are what often makes me decide to choose an event such as this.

The $89.95 price for adults does include tax and gratuity, as does the $39.95 price for children ages 3 to 9 years old.  The information on the website indicates that there will be a cash bar, and the menu online does not include alcoholic beverages.  While the price may seem expensive, also consider what you might pay for a meal somewhere else as well as the extra added touches at this event when making your decision.  If you do decide to go, you can call Disney Vacation Club Member Services at 1-800-800-9800 to make your reservation.

I hope that these thoughts are helpful for you, Maria.  Have a great time planning your vacation, and please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
