Is there ever any chance of getting an upgrade from a standard room to a Savannah view room at the Animal Kingdom Lodge? My kids have always begged to stay here so I pushed my budget to the max just to be able to book this room. Hopeful!

Hi, Dana! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is certainly one of the most beautiful Disney Resort hotels and you have made an excellent choice! Being a dreamer myself, I always hope for extra Pixie Dust upon check-in, however, I have never received one after over twenty Disney Resort hotel stays. What I like to tell people is to book what they will be happy with, and if EVER there is some sort of upgrade, it is all the more magical! That being said, I do know some people who were upgraded from a Standard View Room to a Savanna View Room at this particular Disney Resort hotel.

Even without a Savanna View Room, I can almost guarantee that you will have a wonderful time! There are public viewing areas and a Wildlife Field Guide available in your room to help you identify animals! You can even continue to view animal wildlife after dark by using the available night vision goggles

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is also home to many cultural and culinary recreation activities, many complimentary! Be sure to ask for a recreation guide at check-in or do a quick Google search before your arrival to find it online as it is not currently listed on the official Walt Disney World Resort website.

I hope this answers your question and that you have a magical vacation!
