Hello and welcome to planDisney, Cole! A great big, friendly boo to you for coming our way as you think about celebrating
Halloweentime at the
Disneyland Resort.
Halloween is my favorite holiday, and I make an effort to visit Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park in the fall so that I can see the frightfully fun decor, snack on seasonal offerings, and take part in the themed entertainment every year. You can spot your favorite Disney Characters donning their Halloween finest throughout the resort, but each park has something unique to offer for the season.
As you enter Disneyland Park, a giant Mickey jack-o-lantern will welcome you to the
pumpkin festival around Main Street. You will find that
Haunted Mansion gets a makeover of its very own by the Pumpkin King Jack Skellington and his Nightmare Before Christmas crew. The citizens of Halloween Town bring their merry mashup of holidays to this attraction from about mid-September to the very beginning of January. If you have Guests in your party who are easily frightened by the Haunted Mansion, you may find that the appearance of Jack and his friends for this seasonal overlay brings the spooky factor down just a bit.
My favorite way to end a day at Disneyland Park during Halloweentime, is to watch
Halloween Screams! It's a spook-tacular celebration of villains through music, projections, and even fireworks on select nights.
Over in Disney California Adventure Park, you can't miss the way the residents of Radiator Springs celebrate
Haul-O-Ween! Cars Land is decked out from bumper to fender in festive decor and Mater even dresses up his junkyard for a
Graveyard JamBooRee. If you are looking for some bigger frights, be sure to visit
Guardians of the Galaxy - Monsters After Dark when the sun goes down for a terrifyingly good time.
All of the Halloween Time offerings that I mentioned above are included in the cost of admission to both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. There is one special event that requires a separate ticket to enter and that is the
Oogie Boogie Bash - A Disney Halloween Party. This special ticketed event is available on select nights during Halloween Time at Disney California Adventure Park and includes immersive trick-or-treat trails, the Frightfully Fun Parade, unique meet and greets with beloved Disney Characters, and the visually enchanting Villains Grove.
Keep an eye out for Oogie Boogie Bash tickets to go on sale sometime in the summer, because this Halloween party is a well-loved event and will likely sell out. Halloweentime typically haunts the Disneyland Resort from early September to October 31. I hope you get the chance to take part in the thrills and chills, Cole!
Happy Haunting!
