Hello! We have an evening flight on the day of check out. I know bell services will happily store our bags and we can use all resort amenities as well. If we are staying on points in a DVC room, can we request a late check out or pay for a later check out?

Hi Jessica and welcome home! Check-out day always brings a mix of emotions to me and my family. We're sad to be ending our vacation and leaving our Disney Vacation Club villa, worried that the luggage might not fit all the souvenirs we bought, yet happy to know our next trip will be right around the corner because with DVC, we know we’ll be back!

When staying in a DVC villa using your DVC points, DVC policies state that check-out is at 11:00AM in order to provide other members and guests the opportunity to have an on-time check-in. But don’t fret, there’s plenty of free activities and experiences for you to enjoy to pass the time until your flight! As you already know, your resort’s amenities are still available to you after check-out, including swimming pools and Community Halls.

Our family loves closing out a Disney vacation by visiting Disney Springs. We’ll typically grab a meal at our favorite spots like Polite Pig, Chicken Guy!, or Frontera Cocina. Then, we’ll stop by the World of Disney to grab any last minute souvenirs and Goofy’s Candy Company for some snacks for the flight home. I recently discovered the Up-themed Paradise Falls Milk Chocolate Bar and fell in love with it!

Another activity I highly recommend is resort hopping. With the many Disney transportation options at your disposal, adventure is out there! You can take the Skyliner to the Boardwalk area resorts, the monorail around the Seven Seas Lagoon, or a boat to Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. The possibilities are endless! Resort hopping has allowed our family to discover and appreciate the many resorts Walt Disney World has to offer, often leading to us wanting to plan our next trip immediately!

Jessica, I hope you find this information helpful. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me and my fellow panelists here at planDisney with any additional questions!
