Hi there, Stephanie! Welcome to planDisney. The two holidays you mentioned are my favorite seasons to visit the Disneyland Resort. There is something truly magical about spotting the giant Mickey pumpkin on Main Street, U.S.A., or feeling the crowd’s excitement when it "snoaps." Let’s take a look at what you may be able to see and experience around your arrival date.
Holidays at the Disneyland Resort are set to kick off on November 18th, when this whimsical winter season comes alive with enchanting decor, cheerful entertainment, and seasonal treats, along with the return of Disney Festival of Holidays at Disney California Adventure Park. While your arrival date is a bit earlier than the official start of the festivities, you'll likely begin to see hints of the holidays appear around the parks as Halloween comes to an end.
Last year, I attended Oogie Boogie Bash on Halloween night and followed it with a Park Hopper day. From what I experienced, holiday merchandise was already in full swing at various stores inside both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park. Snow was resting atop the turrets of Sleeping Beauty's Castle, which is always a delight to see.
"it's a small world" had already received its festive look, although it was still closed for its holiday overlay refurbishment.
Don't forget to ride Haunted Mansion during its holiday overlay! One of my family's favorite experiences that bridges both seasons is
Haunted Mansion Holiday. This attraction typically begins during the Halloween season and continues through the holidays, blending the spooky fun of Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas with festive cheer.
Stephanie, thank you so much for stopping by planDisney with your question. I hope this helps build excitement as you count down to your holiday adventure. Be sure to keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog for the most up-to-date news about the upcoming holiday season. If you have any more questions before your visit, planDisney is always here to help.
