Welcome to planDisney, Claire.
I remember experiencing
Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park on my very first trip to Walt Disney World. My family got quite competitive on the Toboggan Racers! And it still brings a smile to my face when I think about my then little sister braving Summit Plummet. The theming of this water park is so impressive that one adult member of my family (I won't say who) actually thought it functioned as a ski resort during the winter months!
As you know, Disney's Blizzard Beach is currently closed for refurbishment. As of now, we haven't been told when this refurbishment will be complete. Hopefully, it will be finished in time for your holiday. The best thing you can do is keep an eye on
Disney Parks Blog and the
Walt Disney World website for any news.
Claire, did you know that
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park has recently reopened? Personally, this is actually my favorite water park. The tropical oasis theme brings both relaxation and excitement to my soul. My wife and I have many fond memories of plunging down
Crush 'N' Gusher together. We also love braving the big kahunas of
Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool. Did you know you can even
book surfing lessons? As Crush would say, "It's totally awesome, dude!" And if you have any little Squirts in your bale of turtles,
Ketchakiddee Creek is a perfect place for them to explore and play. After plummeting down so many water slides, you can then take a much-deserved rest on
Castaway Creek.
Thanks for stopping by planDisney, Claire! I hope you have a wonderful visit and enjoy all there is on offer at the
50th Anniversary Celebration.
ChEARS,
Mike
