We are going up for the Epcot wine/food at the end of October. What food event could you recommend that would be kid friendly for a 5 year old?

Hi Donna!  I am an old participant of the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival events.  For many years our family has chosen this time of year so we can enjoy so many of the wonderful happenings!

Although children are not necessarily prohibited from these events they are not geared to entertain young children. In the past we were able to keep younger infants with us by sitting in the back but last year we were not allowed to take strollers into some of the events at the Festival Center due to space.  So many of the events are hosted by great chefs and food personalities and interruptions from children would be unfortunate.

You can enjoy the great food and wines from the various countries by simply walking around the World Showcase.  Or you can get a babysitter to come to your resort room while you head to EPCOT to enjoy a lunch, tasting, or seminar.  This is what we do now when traveling with the young kids and it is best as everyone is happy and not under stress.  We use Kids Nite Out which is also recommended by the Disney resorts.  You can reach them by calling 1-800-696-8105 or 407-828-0920.  Hope this helps and you can work out a great schedule for everyone in your family!
