Hiya, Patricia! Welcome back to planDisney!
Thanks for sharing your question with us. EPCOT may stand for “Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow,” but with all of its delicious restaurants and food options, I think you could argue that “Eating Provisions and Candies, Obviously Terrific” is an acceptable alternate meaning.
You've picked a fantastic time to visit Walt Disney World. The EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival is one of my favorite special events at Walt Disney World, and I’m pleased to report that it does not require a special ticket. Festival events and access to the special food booths are included with your standard theme park ticket. You can read all about the event
here.
As your vacation draws nearer, be sure to check out the Disney Parks Blog for updates and info on the festival and other special events. They’ve already shared
this preview, but the Foodie Guide (my favorite!), merchandise previews, and other info will be released closer to the start of the event in late August. With so many new foods to enjoy, it’s always helpful to be able to read about the offerings in advance and come up with a plan for all your snacking.
I hope this info is useful, Patricia. Don’t hesitate to come back if you have additional vacation planning questions. You're as welcome as can be at planDisney!
Magical travels!
Matt
