Hi Dawn!
Thanks so much for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question!
I'm so happy you're considering a meal at
Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, located in the Norway pavilion in World Showcase at Epcot. I have wonderful memories of dining there with our two little princesses (who are now teenagers!), and also with a large group of girlfriends after the runDisney Princess Half-Marathon. It's a beautiful venue, and there are plenty of Disney Princesses on hand to interact with before and during your meal!
When dining at Akershus for lunch or dinner, your royal feast will begin with a visit to a bountiful buffet for "A Taste of Norway". The buffet is loaded with imported cheeses, meats, and several kinds of seafood. Also available is a wide selection of fruits and salads. I could pretty much make a meal out of just the appetizers!
The entrees offered at lunch and dinner are pretty much identical. Traditional Norwegian meals (with names I wouldn't even try to pronounce) range from Pan-Seared Salmon ("Laks") to Norwegian Meatballs (Kjottkake). My personal favorite is the House-made Potato and Goat Cheese Ravioli - so yummy! While menu offerings are always subject to change, you're sure to find several options to please your palate.
Make sure to walk around and explore the entire restaurant during your visit - there are lovely details all around! My favorite room has a quaint fireplace in the corner, and cute little windows where you can look out and see World Showcase Lagoon.
I hope this helps answer your question, and give you a bit more information about Akershus Royal Banquet Hall. Thanks again for stopping by - have a magical day! - Diane W.
