Hello- We will be in Epcot the night of my sons 8th birthday. Where would be a good place we can get dinner and cake or some sort of tasty treat to celebrate his birthday in Epcot. Something that is not over the top expensive would be great. Thanks!

Hiya Andrea! Welcome to planDisney! I’m so excited that you're plotting a special birthday celebration for your soon to be 8-year old son! I hope he has the BEST DAY EVER!

Thinking ahead is key, especially with dining reservations. And I hear you on the budget. I’m always looking at ways to make those Disney dollars stretch!  Let’s dish out some fun options that’ll make him feel like the star of the show without breaking the bank!

First, I’d totally suggest Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria in the Italy Pavilion. It’s one of my favorite spots because it’s budget-friendly. And my kids are obsessed with those giant, wood-fired pizzas! They are absolute crowd-pleasers. I mean, they are huge! Like “whoa, is that for real?!” big. The atmosphere is super fun, and you can’t go wrong with pizza! Just a heads-up: desserts here are more traditional Italian. Think tiramisu and cannoli. It's not your classic birthday cake, but it's still super tasty.

If you’re open to splurging a little, Space 220 Restaurant is such a fun pick! You’ll take a “space elevator” up to dine 220 miles above Earth (or at least it feels like it). The experience is a total hit with kids; it’s like being in a spaceship, with astronauts floating by your window. It is a little pricier, but honestly, it’s an unforgettable birthday memory. They have some unique desserts too, though again, no classic birthday cake.

Since it’s his big day, you might also want to consider a character dining experience at Garden Grill Restaurant in The Land Pavilion. The restaurant slowly rotates while you eat (so cool, right?), and classic Disney pals like Chip, Dale, and Mickey in his farmer gear swing by for hugs and birthday wishes. It’s all-you-care-to-enjoy, with simple, kid-friendly comfort food, and you can even request a little birthday celebration moment with dessert!

Now, if you’re after something more casual and easier on the wallet, head to Regal Eagle Smokehouse over in The American Adventure Pavilion. Not only is the BBQ delicious, but their banana pudding is famous around here! Sweet, creamy, and perfect for a birthday treat if your little guy’s a fan.

Since you’ll be visiting during the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival, you’ve gotta check out the outdoor kitchens scattered around the park! There are so many creative, colorful treats. From fruity slushies to specialty sweets, and it’s a super fun way to snack around the World Showcase. You might be able to find a special treat for the birthday boy there!

Oh, and if you pop into Sunshine Seasons inside The Land Pavilion,  it’s a great spot for quick, fresh bites and usually has some fun seasonal desserts and birthday-friendly treats that won’t break the bank.

And don’t forget that birthday button from Guest Relations! Cast Members and characters love making birthday Guests feel extra special. You never know what little magical surprises might happen.

Wishing your birthday boy the happiest, yummiest, most magical day ever!

    See ya real soon,
