Hello! We were in Epcot on New Year's Eve in 2009. We received hats and whisltes for the celebration. Do you know if any other park(or restaurant) does this? We will be at Contem with MK view so we will leave the park for a more calm family celebration.

    Hi Jennifer!

Do you know that I have never spent New Year's Eve at Walt Disney World???  It is absolutely on  my must do list and I am so jealous!  However, I do know a thing or two about ringing in the New Year at the happiest place on Earth!  My number one piece of advice is to pick one theme park, arrive early and DON'T leave until you are ready to call it a night.  If the park has reached capacity, no one will be allowed to enter, not even Walt Disney World Resort guests.  Yikes!

In the past, restaurants such as the California Grill, Narcoossees and Bistro de Paris have hosted New Year's Eve dinner celebrations, but they are quite costly.  All of the parks will be celebrating; however, Animal Kingdom will be closing around 8:00 PM - not exactly a late night!  DisneyQuest usually hosts a really cool New Year's Eve Party that is totally geared towards kids ages 3 and up.  It is around $43 plus tax per guest and includes food, games, a DJ dance party and a confetti blast at midnight!

Honestly, if you have a theme park view at the Contemporary, you will have one of the best seats in the house!  I would party at the Magic Kingdom and then head back to your room for a perfect viewing spot for the special midnight presentation of the fireworks.  HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!
