We will be at EPCOT in the morning, but have lunch reservations at T Rex in downtown. Is there a bus that goes from the park to downtown or do I need to catch one to a resort and then grab one to go downtown?

    Hi Amy,

There is not a bus that goes directly from Epcot to Downtown Disney, so you will need to be a little creative. If you are in the World Showcase area of the park when you are ready to leave, I would suggest exiting by the International Gateway and catching the bus to Downtown Disney from the Boardwalk resort.

If you are in Future World, you can exit to the bus station near the front of the park. On a trip last month, we got great advice from a bus driver. He suggested we catch the bus to Port Orleans Riverside and get off at the first stop within the resort. We did, and the bus to Downtown Disney came along quickly and headed directly to Downtown Disney without making other stops within the resort. It took us less than 30 minutes to make the trip.

You do have one more faster option, but it isn't free. From either the bus station area at the front of Epcot or from the Boardwalk resort, you can catch a taxi to Downtown Disney. It will take just a few minutes and shouldn't cost more than $15, tip included.

I'm a big fan of the complimentary Walt Disney World transportation system, but every once in a while, I'll splurge for a taxi, especially when I'm going to or from a meal in a resort or Downtown Disney. The convenience of getting to the restaurant quickly is usually worth it.
