Welcome home, Tracy! And welcome to planDisney.
Complimentary transportation to destinations throughout Walt Disney World Resort including
Disney’s Magical Express between Orlando International Airport and select Walt Disney World Resort hotels is one of many magical benefits available exclusively to Guests of
Disney Resort Hotels and
Disney Vacation Club destinations. During
Walt Disney World Resort’s phased reopening, transportation operations will be altered from how return Guests may have experienced before. Exciting new refurbishments at
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, including enhancements to the Great Ceremonial House and Guest rooms, will mean additional adjustments to normal transportation operations.
Beginning in early October, the
Walt Disney World Monorail station at the Great Ceremonial House will be closed. Guests at
Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows will continue to have access to complimentary transportation directly to
all four Walt Disney World theme parks via
Walt Disney World Bus Service. Additionally, a short walk to the Transportation and Ticket Center allows Guests to board a monorail or
ferryboat to
Magic Kingdom Park or other Magic Kingdom Area destinations. Bus service between theme parks and
Disney Springs is currently suspended. However, you can still catch a bus between your resort location and Disney Springs starting one hour before the shopping and entertainment district opens and ending approximately one hour after Disney Springs closes for the night. Be sure to take advantage of the step-by-step directions available in the
My Disney Experience mobile app to plan out your transportation needs.
I understand this may not be what you are used to for your visits to the Walt Disney World Resort. Driving your own vehicle is certainly an option worth considering. In fact, that is just what my family and I plan on doing for our next vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort. Though, we are still definitely planning on enjoying a few rides aboard the Walt Disney World Monorail and the
Disney Skyliner!
Tony’s Tip: If you choose to drive to Walt Disney World Resort, be sure to verify Disney Vacation Club member
parking benefits.
Thanks for your great question, Tracy. I hope you will come to visit planDisney again as you continue to plan your Disney Parks vacation.
