We will be in Epcot on Fri., 9/11/15. I noticed that one of the FastPass+ choices is Illuminations. How does this work? Illuminations is not a ride, so there is no line. What is the advantage of getting a FastPass for a show? Ed 58 days til WDW

Hey Edward! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

You are headed to the most 'Magical Place on Earth' during a great time of year: the hot summer temperatures are cooling, the crowds are decreasing as the kiddos head back to school and the 'grim grinning ghosts come out to socialize' for Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.

When it comes to using a FastPass+ selection for Illuminations: Reflections of Earth, I, personally, do not like to use one of my selections for this because my family typically like to use them for rides and arriving at a prime viewing location 30 minutes prior to the show is better than waiting 80 minutes for an attractions. However, I will say the location reserved for FastPass+ viewing of Illuminations is magnificent. You are so close to the show that you can actually feel the heat from the flame throwers.

My advice would be to stake out a great spot near the FastPass+ viewing area approximately 30 minutes prior to the show and save your coveted 3rd FastPass+ selection for one of the many great attractions which historically have long standby queues such as Test Track or Soarin'.

I hope this helps with your planning. If you have any more questions about your FastPass+ strategy or any other aspect of your Walt Disney World vacation please come back and see me.

Wishing you a *MAGICAL* vacation and a pixie-dusted day!
