We are going to Epcot Food and Wine Festival for the first time, is there any tips or suggestions you could give us? 2 adults and 1 7 year old dd. Any tips for kids? How long will it take to eat your way around the world? What time of the day is best to go

Hi Chantelle! I have been working on my own itinerary tonight for the Food and Wine Festival!

The first advice I need to share is that I would definitely try to stay away from the World Showcase from Friday evening through Sunday afternoons. During this time many of the locals come and not only is it very crowded but can get a bit unruly if guests decide to drink around the world instead of eating! It is certainly not a place to take your seven year old during that time.

I like to get there right at 11am when the World Showcase opens.  The lines are shorter and will grow quickly by 1pm but that gives you a good hour or two to enjoy the foods from as many different countries as possible. Judging the amount of time it will take you to try a treat from each country is difficult as many of the countries will have more then one food kiosk to try. Some portions are larger then others and some are easier to eat in one or two bites so try not to have an arm load of things when you do this trek.  It isn't inexpensive but it is such a great way to sample the culinary delights from around the world.

Your seven year old might get bored unless they too enjoy trying new and different foods. Don't force the issue of having to eat it all and let the rules go for one day and allow the sweets to flow. There are some amazing treats there and it is one sure way to keep the kiddos happy.  I also suggest you give your camera to your child and let it be their responsibility to take some good photos of the World Showcase. This is a good option if the food lines get long as it keeps them happy and busy.

    Enjoy!
