Hi! If the Epcot fireworks show gets cancelled, but you have a reservation for a fireworks dining package that night - would you get refunded/be able to cancel then? Or would you still be charged and have to dine without the show?

    Hi there, Corrine!

I'm so glad you dropped by planDisney with your question! Walt Disney World Resort's fireworks displays are second to none, and the purchase of a dining package is a wonderful way to ensure you have a spectacular view without spending hours of your day securing a spot!

EPCOT currently offers fireworks dining packages at Rose & Crown and Spice Road Table, both of which feature open-air seating with expansive views of World Showcase Lagoon where Luminous takes place. The weather in Florida can be a bit unpredictable at times which often leads to concern and speculation regarding the cancellation of Walt Disney World's nighttime spectaculars. In my experience, while there might be a delay or abbreviated display/performance, a true cancellation is very rare. It is The Most Magical Place on Earth, after all.

I just spoke to a friendly Cast Member to confirm the cancellation policy. She shared that in the rare event of a Luminous cancellation, guests would still need to arrive at the restaurant as scheduled and speak to a Cast Member specific to that location about the possibility of a refund. It is important to note that the refund is not guaranteed and would be awarded at Cast Member discretion. In light of this knowledge, I did a bit of research, and both reservations only require 24-hour notice for cancellation without penalty. I would suggest making your desired reservation but keeping an eye on the weather as the date approaches. If the forecast begins to concern you, simply cancel the reservation within the allotted timeframe. One of my favorite things about EPCOT is that almost every attraction is indoors, so inclement weather doesn't have to spoil your day!

I hope this was helpful, Corrine, and that you have a magical vacation filled with Florida sunshine! Feel free to stop back by with any additional questions that may arise. We're always happy to help!

    Cheers to 2024,
    Lizzie
