Epcot closes early on 5/21 for a private event, and I am attending that private event. I am planning to drive to Epcot for the event. If I also have a park ticket and I am in Epcot before 5:30 on 5/21, will I need to exit and then come back in?

Hey There, Hi There, Ho There, Cindy!

Welcome to planDisney! We are DELIGHTED you stopped by and honored to help you plan your upcoming visit to Disney World! I must say it is SO cool to hear that you will be attending a private event at EPCOT! I know you are going to have the most MAGICAL time ever!

First of all, I am so excited you are able to experience the awesomeness of EPCOT the entire day because there is so much to do! In fact, you will have the opportunity to attend the EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival. This is a breathtaking celebration of nature, creativity, and Disney enchantment. Stunning topiaries of your favorite Disney characters bloom across the park, transforming every corner into a living work of art. Outdoor kitchens serve up fresh, flavorful dishes inspired by gardens around the world. It’s a vibrant and refreshing experience that delights all your senses and welcomes spring in the most enchanting way possible.

PRO TIP: Make sure you try the Peanut Butter and Jelly soft-serve at Swirled Showcase located along the walkway between World Showcase and the Imagination! Pavilion. It is sooooo good! My mouth is watering just thinking about it!

As I was doing research for you, I saw that EPCOT closes at 5:30 p.m. on May 21. To answer your question, it depends on when your special event begins. When I talked to a Cast Member, he informed me that if your event starts at or earlier than 5:30 p.m., you would not have to exit and reenter EPCOT. However, if your event starts at 7:00 p.m., you would more than likely have to exit the park and reenter at the time of the special event. I would also recommend contacting the event organizer to confirm this information.

I hope this information is helpful to you in your planning. If you have other questions, please do not hesitate to ask. We are here to help in any way we can!

    See You Real Soon!
