Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Rosalee!
When you enter the world of
Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, you'll find yourself on the planet of Batuu, where residents will greet you by saying "Bright Suns" or "Rising Moons," depending on the time of day. One of my favorite things about the land is how immersive it is, so be sure to talk to the Cast Members in the land and
hear their stories about living in Black Spire Outpost. They might even give you some tips so you can steer clear of the First Order Stormtroopers who are roaming the land, looking for members of the resistance! On my recent visit, I learned that hats are not customary on Batuu; instead, they wear a sort of headscarf to stay cool under the heat of the planet's three suns.
Rosalee, there are two entrances to Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge inside
Disney's Hollywood Studios. You're right that one is through Toy Story Land, and when you enter that way, you'll find yourself near Droid Depot and Milk Stand, as well as areas where you may spot members of the First Order. The other entrance is on the Grand Avenue side of Disney's Hollywood Studios, near
Muppet*Vision 3D. When you enter on this side of the land, you'll find yourself in the forested area where members of the Resistance can be spotted – I saw Chewbacca fixing up some old spacecraft as I walked through. The center of the land is home to
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, as well as the shopping and snacks in the marketplace section.
Note that if you'll be visiting Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge during
Extra Magic Hours, you'll want to check with a Cast Member to see which entrance to the land you should use. I've heard that only one entrance may be open during that time (last I heard, it was Grand Avenue, but things can always change), so save yourself the steps by asking a friendly Cast Member, who will be happy to point you in the best direction to enter a galaxy far, far away.
Rosalee, if you pick up a Park Map as you enter Disney's Hollywood Studios, you'll be able to see both entrances. You can also consult the map of Batuu in the
My Disney Experience mobile app. This map will show you wait times and locations within the land. If you consult the map within the
Play Disney Parks app, you'll be able to access some really cool interactive features that can be unlocked when you're visiting Batuu. There are interactive games, trivia, and even a playlist of the land's music.
I hope you have a BLAST living your Star Wars adventure at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge! Be sure to read the
Disney Parks Blog as you get closer to your visit, as they share great planning tips and news to help you squeeze every drop of magic out of your time at the Walt Disney World Resort. As you continue to plan and dream, please come back and see us if we can answer any more questions!
May the Force be with you,
