Hi. We are an entire family of 14, split into 4 families. When making a dining reservation do we need to book as 14? Or can each little family book seperately? We don't mind sitting on different tables if we are all pretty close to each other.

    Hi Samantha!

For many years I was the Disney planner for my family of 16, or four family groups, so I understand your dining challenges.

If you would all like to eat at the same place and the same time I suggest you try booking yourself as a group with the knowledge that you likely will not sit together at one table. This will at least alert the restaurants that you need to sit as close as possible. Do not do this on line as many times the on line app will not recognize groups larger then the largest table at a restaurant. Please call 407-939-3463 to talk personally to a dining reservationist. Let them know on the phone that you are happy with any type of table configuration possible such as two tables of four and one table of six.

A fun twist my family always used about seating the group at each meal became a tradition for our vacations. We would check in with the restaurant and find out how many tables and how many at each. We would then quietly draw names for each table and those would be our seat mates. If there was an infant then they would sit with one of their parents but other then that there were no rules. Sometimes families ended up together but more often we had a wonderful time sitting with others and getting to know them even more. This is just a thought yo might want to use for your family group!
