What is the entertainment schedule like at Disneyland in late January? Is there typically a parade that runs during that time?

Hi Naela! Welcome to planDisney. We just love helping Guests find a little extra magic in their Disneyland Resort vacations!

January is a great time of year to visit the resort as the hustle and bustle of the holidays has started to calm, and many Guests have returned to their regular schedules. It can be a quieter time to be in the parks, making for some extra room in those Lightning Lanes! That being said, it can also be a time for the Disneyland Resort to regroup, so be sure to check park hours as part of your planning as hours can be amended to reflect the quieter time. You will also be able to see which, if any, attractions may be closed for refurbishment here as well.

I'm so glad you brought up the Entertainment Schedule, which is another good place to look when planning out those Disneyland days. The schedule typically goes live about six weeks ahead of time, which will be in early to mid-December for you. While we have just heard the good news that the Magic Happens Parade will be returning to Disneyland Park next spring, it doesn't look like there is currently a parade scheduled to float down Main Street, U.S.A. this January, but hold onto the pixie dust!

While no announcements have been made, January usually sees the return of the Lunar New Year Celebration over at Disney California Adventure Park. Included in that celebration is Mulan's Lunar New Year Procession featuring a cast of your favorite characters! Lunar New Year is set to begin on January 22, 2023, so you may be able to catch this wonderful event celebrating a new year of prosperity and good fortune! In addition to the procession, you will enjoy entertainment, delicious festival treats and innovative cuisine, kid-friendly crafts, and special appearances by the one and only Mickey and Minnie Mouse in festive attire! It's one of the most beautiful celebrations the parks have to offer!

Keep your eyes peeled on the Disney Parks Blog and @DISNEYLAND Instagram account for any breaking festival and parade news! If you have any more questions ahead of your trip, you know where to find us! We are always here for you at planDisney.

    Magic awaits!
