Hiya Alexandria!
Thank you so much for stopping by planDisney with your stroller question. From one stroller-pushing mom to another, I know just how much of a lifesaver they are in the parks. Honestly, I think of mine as my very own magic carpet—helping little ones go soaring through the Most Magical Place on Earth. Whether it’s giving tired feet a break after a long day of adventures, doubling as a cozy spot for an afternoon nap, or carrying around all those Mickey balloons and popcorn buckets we couldn’t resist, the stroller is a true park hero!
Now, let’s roll right into your question. Yes, strollers do need to go through the stroller line for security. If you were to carry it through the metal detector, it would definitely get flagged and then you’d be held up for a full search. To keep things moving smoothly, Cast Members will typically ask you to show the bottom of your stroller and open up all of the pockets.
Here are a couple of tips that make it easier for my family: I usually clear out the basket underneath before we head into the park so security can see through it quickly. Also, my husband carries the bags through the metal detector separately, which makes my job with the stroller much easier.
As a reminder,
strollers can’t be larger than 31” wide and 52” long, and stroller wagons aren’t permitted. If you’d rather skip bringing your own, Disney also offers
stroller rentals inside the parks and at Disney Springs—super handy if you don’t want to worry about security with your stroller.
Alexandria, I hope this helps you feel more prepared for your magical day! If you have any more questions, don’t hesitate to stop by again.
See ya real soon,
Christina
