Hi Ernesto! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney.
The
Disneyland mobile app doesn't allow
Disney Gift Cards to be saved as a method of payment, unfortunately. I'm sorry if that's disappointing, but there are a few good reasons why you should save them to the Disney Gift Card website and they don't relate to the app necessarily. I can walk you through those, so you feel better about taking that extra step.
You have the option on the website to combine the value of multiple Disney Gift Cards onto one card up to a value of $1000 currently by visiting
My Cards. Select which card you want to transfer the other cards' funds to. Select 'Transfer Funds to This Card' and then simply follow the on-screen prompts. Combining the value onto one card not only means fewer cards to keep track of but also the ability to pay for a larger purchase online with the card. Disney Gift Cards can be used in the parks for merchandise and dining, but they can also be used online at the
Disney Store, for Disneyland Resort admission tickets, and Disneyland Resort Hotel stays too. When you're checking out online on the Disneyland Resort website, you typically can only enter one Disney Gift Card, so a larger balance on one card is useful with bigger purchases.
The website also allows you to track your spending. Knowing the
balance at a glance is incredibly helpful! You won't have to make a call to check or keep track of receipts. But most importantly, how often have you received a gift card only to misplace it in a junk drawer or your messy desk? Once you've entered those Disney Gift Cards, you can transfer the funds to a new card or an empty or partially used card down the line. Disney Gift Cards currently don't expire and have no fees, which means you can enter the Disney Gift Card and use it years later by signing back into the website and making a transfer even if you can't remember where you stashed it at home.
On our most recent family trip, we used Disney Gift Cards as a convenient method of payment for daily Lightning Lane Multi Pass, merchandise, and dining purchases. Although you can't save these cards in the app as a method of payment, I can recommend a quick workaround, which will make your mobile ordering a breeze. Save the number on the card in your Notes app on your mobile device. When you need to enter payment during a mobile order transaction or when purchasing Lightning Lane Multi Pass, simply copy and paste the number from the Notes app into the Disneyland mobile app. This will save you from manually entering the long number.
I hope this helps!
